第一幕

自從亨利·史密斯晉升中尉進入軍情局，他與漢斯·卡彭少校已搭檔四年，標準軍校生與實戰大兵難得能維持長久的夥伴關係且「親密」。

然而一年前，亨利執行單人機密任務後音訊全無。

為了躲避財政部的叔叔安排的相親，漢斯在軍情局辦公室熬夜工作。不巧，他撞見失蹤一年的亨利潛入檔案室。兩人發生扭打，直到亨利威脅漢斯就範，漢斯因錯愕而屈服，幾乎心碎。

當漢斯不情願地問起，亨利才答道他找不到斯卡利茲兵工廠的檔案夾。漢斯早有把握地解答，那是因為他早就拿走了，漢斯走回辦公室，把檔案夾「還」給亨利。

亨利什麼也沒解釋，拿了斯卡利茲兵工廠的檔案就走，臨走前他只說了一句：「我還會回來。」

但是亨利一年前曾說過的同樣的話立刻激怒漢斯。

漢斯咆哮。抱怨他從原定的三週變成等待整整一年，直到他們終於相見，他卻被搭檔四年的「親密朋友」壓在鐵櫃上，威脅要殺了他。

漢斯從口袋掏出一個小盒子砸向亨利，說他不屑再等亨利。

亨利從盒中拿出兩枚戒指，刻著H&H。其中一枚完美套入亨利的左手無名指。

亨利走進漢斯的辦公室，拉過失落的漢斯親吻，掃落桌上的文件，把漢斯壓在辦公桌上，開始做那件搭檔關係能維持「親密」的原因。

事後，漢斯解釋了軍情局的現況。「斯卡利茲兵工廠縱火案」的醜聞引發軍情局的政治內鬥，軍事法庭的伊什特萬·托特彈劾上級並晉升少將。被視為下任局長的拉齊格·科比拉中將在四個月前失蹤，伊什特萬因此霸佔他原有的指揮權。

一切安頓後，軍情局才發現亨利·史密斯出任務後音訊全無。

亨利也以為他的行蹤會因為軍情局的搜索而曝光。漢斯解釋，沒人能找到亨利是因為漢斯先將亨利的記錄全都刪除；他察覺到亨利一年都沒聯繫任何人，於是判斷亨利可能正在臥底。

漢斯在國家安全與亨利之間，選擇了後者。

漢斯在天亮前把亨利趕走。亨利承諾這次一定會回來，並將另一枚戒指戴在漢斯的無名指上。

第二幕

自從伊什特萬掌握軍情局的指揮權，總是以揭發「斯卡利茲兵工廠縱火案」為由組織行動，但是真實目的不明。

漢斯參與其中一項攻堅任務，他們被要求追擊大樓裡身份不明的武裝人員。漢斯發覺伊什特萬給予的任務目標不明確，而且敵人屢次看穿陷阱，顯示出對方非常清楚軍情局的作戰方式。

於是漢斯主動落單查明真相，他在頂樓遭遇一名武裝人員襲擊，此時耳機傳來模糊的雜訊，但是他沒看到任何空中支援。然後漢斯立刻要求對方棄械投降，戴著防護面罩的人放下步槍，雙手高舉。

漢斯看見那人的左手無名指閃爍金屬光澤。

然而，托特的下屬也走到頂樓。艾瑞克少校，伊什特萬少將忠心的走狗。

漢斯只好佯裝制服敵人，漢斯束縛了蒙面的男子，確認了左手的戒指──H&H；所以漢斯沒有將亨利的雙手綑緊。

伊什特萬不知何時也出現在頂樓，他命令漢斯脫下男子的面罩，艾瑞克舉起步槍瞄準他們倆。

漢斯遲遲沒有動手，此時，螺旋槳的噪音迅速迫近。

一架無法辨清身份的超級休伊直升機逼近大樓，機槍朝著樓梯口射擊，艾瑞克拉著伊什特萬躲進掩體。

漢斯掩護亨利的時候，亨利鬆開自己的繩索，拾起漢斯的步槍朝艾瑞克射擊，同時一邊退向直昇機。

亨利登上直升機前，要求漢斯跟他一起走。伊什特萬咆哮著命令艾瑞克擊斃兩名叛徒。

漢斯沒有猶豫，在國家與亨利之間，再次選擇了摯愛。

他們躍上直昇機，亨利的肩膀中彈正在滲血。

漢斯著急地尋找傷口，亨利卻拉著漢斯說，「我愛你，我必須在還來得及之前告訴你。」漢斯臉色慘白，怒吼著要亨利閉嘴。

亨利執意繼續說，說他很想念他，說他是為了保護漢斯才失聯，但他也很後悔。

漢斯幾乎急哭，威脅亨利要活著聽到他向亨利求婚。

亨利揚起笑容，然後轉頭問駕駛座的父親對這樁婚事有沒有異議。

駕駛座的拉齊格中將只是聳聳肩，調侃財政部的哈努什，漢斯的叔叔可能會企圖凍結拉齊格提出的國防預算作為抗議，但是除此之外，拉齊格樂見這件喜事。

操作機槍的傑式卡上校，拆開亨利的防護衣進行緊急包扎，揶揄亨利和他的新男友小別勝新婚。

亨利向尚在震驚的漢斯解釋，拉齊格其實是他的生父，以及亨利的臥底與匈牙利間諜案有關。

直升機在他們談話的時候撤退至山區的安全屋。

第三幕

下直升機後，漢斯與亨利坐在醫護室，等待醫護人員處理亨利的傷口。

腎上腺素消退，他們開始感到疲憊，氣氛一度變得尷尬，直到漢斯開口說話。

「整整一年啊，老天啊，這是我們搭檔以來，第一次失聯這麼久。前三個月，我每天都在想，你現在在哪？有受傷嗎？安全嗎？我才他媽的不管什麼狗屎任務，我只在乎你是否還活著。到了第四個月，我就受不了了，所以我買了對戒，因為我需要你回來告訴我答案。」

「但是我好怕，我好怕如果你拒絕了，我該怎麼辦？如果你希望我們的關係只是同事和床伴，我該怎麼面對？我已經沒辦法像之前那樣看待你，因為我不知道該怎麼停止愛你！但是你失蹤一年後，我也已經不在乎你的回答了，因為你甚至有可能已經──」

「亨利，我愛你，從今以後，不論你去哪裡，我都不會再跟你分開了。」

「亨、亨利，你願意嗎──」

亨利接受了求婚。

他們看了一眼彼此左手上的戒指，漢斯說，H&H是漢斯和亨利的意思。亨利笑了；他知道。

拉齊格帶著醫護人員出現，他們身後跟著馬丁，他的手臂穿著燒傷壓力衣。

馬丁·史密斯上校，拉齊格過去在空軍的同期，斯卡利茲兵工廠的廠長，原以為喪生於斯卡利茲兵工廠大火的死者之一，但很顯然地，他沒有死。他同時也是亨利的父親，雖然其實是養父。

拉齊格宣佈他明天將返回軍情局拘捕間諜，馬丁會作為證人，亨利蒐集的證據也足夠充分，得以揭發匈牙利間諜伊什特萬·托特。

拉齊格預計亨利在這次行動的功勳足以讓他晉升上尉，拉齊格也會向上級解釋漢斯的秘密參與，以便掩蓋漢斯曾暗中竄改亨利在軍情局的記錄以及掩護亨利逃亡。

但在明天之前，兩位父親很樂意為兒子的婚事提前慶祝。

Hansry Military Intelligence Agent AU

[Act 1]

Since Henry Smith's promotion to First Lieutenant and his entry into Military Intelligence, he and Major Hans Capon have been partners for 4 years. A rare, long-term, and "close" partnership between a by-the-book academy cadet and a seasoned combat soldier. 

Yet, a year ago, Henry vanished after undertaking a solo classified mission.

To avoid a forced blind date arranged by his uncle, a Ministry of Finance official, Hans was burning the midnight oil in his Military Intelligence office. As a result, he unexpectedly stumbled upon the long-missing Henry, attempting to sneak into the archives.

A scuffle ensued, until Henry's threat made Hans, caught off guard, yield, leaving him nearly heartbroken.

Henry replied that he couldn't find the Skalitz Armory file when Hans reluctantly asked what he was looking for. Hans explained that was because he had already taken it. Hans walked back to his office and "returned" the file to Henry.

Henry offered no explanation, taking the Skalitz Armory file and leaving. As he departed, he simply said, "I'll be back." 

But the same words Henry uttered a year ago instantly infuriated Hans.

Hans roared, complaining that his expected three-week wait had stretched into a full year. Now, after their long-awaited reunion, Hans found himself pinned against a metal cabinet by his four-year "intimate friend", who was threatening to kill him. Hans pulled a small box from his pocket and hurled it at Henry, declaring he was done waiting.

From the box, Henry retrieved two rings, etched with H&H. One slid perfectly onto Henry's left ring finger. 

Henry strode into Hans's office, pulled the distraught Hans into a kiss, sweeping papers from the desk. He pressed Hans onto the desktop, initiating the act that maintained their "intimate" partnership.

Afterwards, Hans clarified the situation. The "Skalitz Armory Arson" scandal had sparked political infighting within Military Intelligence. 

Istvan Toth, from the military tribunal, had impeached his superiors and been promoted to Major General. Lieutenant General Radzig, previously seen as the next director, had vanished four months prior, allowing Major General Istvan to seize his command. Only after everything settled, Military Intelligence realize First Lieutenant Henry Smith had gone completely missing after his mission.

Henry had expected Military Intelligence's search to expose his whereabouts, but he remained undetected. Hans then explained he'd scrubbed all of Henry's records, realizing Henry's year-long silence indicated he was likely undercover.

Between national security and Henry's safety, Hans chose his partner.

Hans sent Henry away before dawn. This time, Henry promised he would return and slid the other ring onto Hans' ring finger.

[Act 2]

Since Major General Istvan seized command of Military Intelligence, he's been organizing operations ostensibly to uncover the truth behind the "Skalitz Armory Arson", yet his true motives remain obscure.

Hans participated in one such assault. They were ordered to pursue unidentified armed personnel within a building. Hans quickly realized Istvan's mission objectives were vague, and the enemies repeatedly saw through their traps, indicating a deep familiarity with Military Intelligence's tactics.

So, Hans deliberately isolated himself to uncover the truth. On the top floor, he was attacked by an armed individual. Faint static crackled in his earpiece, but he saw no aerial support. Hans immediately ordered the person to surrender. The figure, wearing a mask, dropped his rifle and raised his hands.

Hans saw a silver glint on the person's left ring finger.

However, Istvan's subordinate also reached the rooftop. Major Erik, Major General Istvan's loyal henchman.

Hans feigned subduing the enemy; he restrained the masked figure, confirming the ring on his left hand—H&H; consequently, Hans did not tighten the bindings on both of Henry's hands.

Istvan appeared on the rooftop. He ordered Hans to remove the man's mask, and Erik raised his rifle, taking aim at them. Hans hesitated, delaying his move.

At that moment, the roar of helicopter blades rapidly approached.

An unidentified Super Huey gunship closed in on the building, its machine guns firing towards the stairwell. Erik pulled Istvan into cover.

As Hans shielded Henry, Henry slipped free of his bonds, grabbed Hans' rifle, and fired towards Erik's position, retreating towards the helicopter.

Before boarding the helicopter, Henry urged Hans to come with him. Istvan roared, ordering Erik to kill both of them.

Hans didn't hesitate. Between his nation and Henry, he chose his beloved once again.

They leaped into the helicopter, Henry's shoulder bleeding from a bullet wound.

Hans frantically searched for the wound, but Henry grabbed him, saying, "I love you. I have to tell you before it's too late." Hans' face went pale, and he roared at Henry to shut up.

Henry insisted on continuing, saying how much he missed him, how he went off-grid to protect him, but also how much he regretted leaving Hans heartbroken. Hans was almost in tears, threatening Henry to live to hear his propose.

Henry smiled, then turned to ask the pilot, his father, if he agreed to the marriage.

Lieutenant General Radzig, in the pilot's seat, simply shrugged, quipping that Hanush at the Ministry of Finance might try to freeze his defense budget in protest, but otherwise, Radzig was delighted by the good news.

Colonel Zizka, the machine gunner, stripped open Henry's protective gear for emergency bandaging, teasing Henry and his new boyfriend about a reunion being sweeter after a long absence.

Henry then explained to a still-stunned Hans that Radzig was, in fact, his biological father, and that Henry's undercover mission was tied to a Hungarian espionage case. 

The helicopter retreated to a safe house in the mountains while they talked.

[Act 3]

After disembarking the helicopter, Hans and Henry sat in the infirmary, waiting for medics to attend to Henry's wound.

As the adrenaline receded, exhaustion set in, and the atmosphere grew awkward until Hans abruptly began to speak. 

"A whole year. Gosh. It was the first time we'd been out of contact for such a long time since we became partners. For the first three months, I wondered every day: Where are you now? Are you hurt? Are you safe? I didn't give a damn about that fucking mission. I only cared if you were alive. By the fourth month, I couldn't take it anymore, so I bought a pair of rings, because I needed you to come back and give me answers."

"But I was so scared. What if you rejected me? What if you only wanted our relationship to be colleagues? Or nothing more than casual. How could I face that? I couldn't see you the same way anymore. 'Cause I didn't know how to stop loving you! But after you'd been gone for a year, I stopped caring about your answer, because you might even have been—"

"Henry, I love you. From now on, no matter where you go, I'll never be separated from you again."

"Hen—Henry, would you?"

Henry accepted the proposal.

They glanced at the rings on each other's left hands. Hans said, H&H stands for Hans and Henry. Henry smiled; he already knew.

Radzig appeared with the medics, followed by Martin, whose arm was encased in a burn compression garment.

Colonel Martin Smith, Radzig's former Air Force partner and the director of the Skalitz Armory, was presumed dead in the Skalitz Armory Fire but clearly survived. He was also Henry's father, though actually his adoptive father.

Radzig announced that he would return to Military Intelligence tomorrow to apprehend Istvan. Martin would serve as a witness, and the evidence Henry had gathered was sufficient to expose Istvan Toth, the Hungarian spy.

Radzig anticipated that Henry's merits from this operation would be sufficient for his promotion to Captain. Radzig would also explain Hans' secret involvement in the action, aiming to cover up Hans' past actions of secretly altering Henry's Military Intelligence records and aiding his escape.

But before tomorrow, both fathers were more than happy to celebrate their sons' engagement in advance.
